Here are all Chiefs’ Red Friday events leading up to Week 1

The Kansas City Chiefs have a ton of events going on leading up to what they describe as the largest edition of Red Friday in franchise history.

First and foremost, the Chiefs will sell a limited-edition Chiefs Kingdom flag for a minimum donation of $5 at participating McDonald’s locations across the Kansas City and St. Joseph, Missouri areas on Friday, September 9th. Fans who don’t live in the area can purchase a flag beginning on Friday, September 9 on shop.chiefs.com for $10. This is the ninth consecutive season that the team has sold the Chiefs Kingdom flags on Red Friday. They’ve raised more than $3.5 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities over the years.

“Red Friday continues to be one of the most unique events on our calendar and is a powerful way for Chiefs Kingdom to rally around a great cause – supporting the families who are served by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City,” Chiefs EVP and CMO Lara Krug said, via press release. “In addition to helping raise money through Red Friday, we’re thrilled to introduce new community-wide events and opportunities for Chiefs Kingdom to share in the excitement of the start of the season. We think this is going to be the biggest and best Red Friday to date and can’t wait to celebrate the start of the 2022 campaign.”

Here is a quick rundown of everything set to happen ahead of the Week 1 tilt with the Arizona Cardinals:

First Fridays with the Chiefs – Friday, September 2

The club recently announced that for the first time in Kansas City history, they are working alongside the First Fridays committee to create “First Fridays with the Chiefs.”

The event is taking place today in the Kansas City Crossroads Arts District, celebrating the start of the 2022 NFL season for the Chiefs. Head over to W. 19th Street from Wyandotte St. to Baltimore Ave, where the team will have an entire Chiefs-themed street featuring live music, mural paintings and several local artist pop-ups.

There will also be merchandise sales from Charlie Hustle’s new Arrowhead Collection line, which I can confirm is fantastic.

“We are excited to work with the Kansas City Chiefs for the first time in the history of First Fridays for this special collaboration,” Crossroads Community Association President Robert Harris said via press release. “We look forward to the opportunity to welcome Kansas Citians to First Friday with the Chiefs this September for an intersection of sports and the arts. The Crossroads and First Fridays offer an eclectic and creative experience year-round, and this one will have a unique Chiefs Kingdom flair.”

Now that the Chiefs are the only NFL team in Missouri, the Chiefs are hosting an event in St. Louis as well. Chiefs fans in the St. Louis area can celebrate the start of the NFL season with a game day experience at the St. Louis Cardinals’ Ballpark Village. This game-day experience will feature opportunities for fans to win Chiefs-themed prizes and cheer the team on at Bally Sports Live! in Ballpark Village.
