Here are 5 bets to consider for the 2023 Mexico Open, including a Jon Rahm/Gary Woodland top-10 parlay

The PGA Tour is south of the border this week for the Mexico Open at Vidanta in Vallarta.

Defending champion and world No. 1 Jon Rahm tied for 15th in his last start at the RBC Heritage a week after slipping on the green jacket in Augusta, Georgia.

Rahm won this event by a single shot last season over Tony Finau and Kurt Kitayama.

As for the rest of the field, it’s one of the weakest we’ve seen in a bit. Three of the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking are set to tee off Thursday.

Here are five bets you need to consider for the 2023 Mexico Open.

Jon Rahm and Gary Woodland to finish inside top 10: +380

The reasons for Rahm to finish inside the top 10 are obvious. As for Woodland, he grabbed a T-24 last season at this event and finished T-14 at the Masters and T-31 at the RBC Heritage.

Wyndham Clark, Patrick Rodgers and Andrew Putnam to finish inside top 20: +1200

Clark has been playing great of late. He finished fifth at the Valspar Championship and sixth at the Corales Puntacana Championship. Clark made the cut in Mexico last year.

Rodgers tied for 19th at the RBC Heritage and grabbed a top 10 at this event in 2022.

In a weaker field, Putnam should be able to make his way into the top 20.

Nicolai Hojgaard to finish inside top 20: +140

Hojgaard has had tremendous success on the DP World Tour and is ready to have his breakout performance on the U.S. circuit. He finished second at the Corales Puntacana Championship and tied for 28th at the Valero Texas Open.

Akshay Bhatia to finish inside top 40: +100

Bhatia has flashed several times over the last few months showing he can shoot a low score any day of a tournament. If he can get one on either Thursday or Friday, it should be enough to make the weekend.

In a weak field at the Corales Puntacana Championship, Bhatia tied for 24th.

Cameron Champ to finish inside top 40: +140

This one might scare you a bit. Champ hasn’t made a cut since the Farmers Insurance Open. Not great.

However, Vidanta Villerata is a bomber’s paradise and the perfect venue for Champ to use his length and get back on track.

He tied for sixth here last season.
