Henrik Larsson imitation game turns Celtic downfall inspiration for RB Leipzig star Emil Forsberg

Emil Forsberg was keen Swedish hero Henrik Larsson in Glasgow - but senses better nights at Celtic Park on the horizon after causing misery for his hero's former employers.

The attacking midfielder scored the crucial goal in RB Leipzig's 2-0 win over Ange Postecoglou's side and it dumps the Hoops out of this year's Champions League following no wins in four Group F matches. Larsson is one of the club's iconic figures and the Celtic legend was a source of inspiration to Forsberg when growing up.

He's delighted to have scored in the famous number's seven's old stomping ground and saw enough from Postecoglou's men to suggest they aren't far off competing on the elite stage. He said: “I bet he’s scored some beauties in this stadium, yes? It was a nice one for me and I was very happy. It came from some very good play from us. It wasn’t easy for us, Celtic are a fantastic team.

“They play good football, they play fast and they have a lot of good combinations. They had some good chances to score but didn’t.

"In the end, we got two good chances and we scored. Celtic are a really good team but against us they didn’t have the ability to score.

"They play some really good one-two combinations, that impressed me a lot. They need that finishing touch a little bit more but I am sure it will come."
