Tourist police helped an Indian traveller who was not allowed to board her flight home at Chiang Mai airport because of her medical condition after a motorbike accident.
Medics at the airport first reported the problem, which happened on Tuesday.
The tourist was not allowed to board her flight back to India because she suffered from a broken arm, dislocated neck and inflamed lungs as a result of a recent motorcycle accident in Pai district of Mae Hong Son.
Airline staff refused to board her out of concern for her safety, because the airline was not informed beforehand of her condition and need for an oxygen supply and a nurse’s care.
The rejected passenger and members of her group sought help.
In response, tourist police provided assistance with the help of the Indian consulate-general in Chiang Mai.
The woman was admitted at a public hospital, where she will receive care while Thai officials help arrange her return flight home.
