A Yate man has been spared immediate jail after a police chase through the town. Aaron Hodge was arrested following an incident in Besom Lane, Westerleigh, in June last year.
Avon and Somerset police deployed cars, both marked and unmarked, to Estoril in Yate at around 9pm, on the hunt for a suspect connected to a reported robbery. A helicopter was scrambled as police believed a suspect was in a vehicle travelling away from the area.
Hodge was arrested at an address in Estoril later the same evening. The 27-year-old, of Sandy Lodge, pleaded guilty to wounding and driving while disqualified.
