It was the final episode of Summer on the Farm Live on Friday evening with the episode ending in a tug-of-war contest.
The show, filmed at Cannon Hall Farm in South Yorkshire, had its last episode of the week this evening, with Helen Skelton and Martin Hughes-Games joining together in a tug-of-war on Team Dave to face-off against Team Rob. This came towards the end of the show after we had been shown around crisp factories and introduced to some owls.
The episode was also complete with Morris Dancing and music, not to mention the cocktails and the lesson on how to cook a Baked Alaska. They also looked back on the week they had had so far, which Helen described as a “belter”.

However, the highlight of the episode was the tug-of-war faceoff, which saw Helen looking to retain her title as champion. Martin was also looking for a good show in his first contest.
Up for grabs was the Golden Pitchfork, as well as pride, and with a year for both sides to prepare, they were eager for a fight. Helen and Martin’s team quickly took the advantage before pulling the rope over the line.
The show ended with the cast and crew all dancing to a brass band performance of the Whitney Houston hit ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ as the credits rolled, bringing an end to the show.
Many across social media headed online to share their love for Helen, Martin and the show. Lynne Watson wrote: “@HelenSkelton you are an amazing presenter and an even more amazing woman….I have loved every minute of Summer on the Farm. Looking good Helen!”
