Helen Skelton shared her own experience of magic this Christmas as she took her sons out for a special afternoon on Tuesday (December 27) ahead of their little sister's first birthday today (Wednesday, December 28).
The Countryfile host has been enjoying a well-deserved break and spending quality time with her family after finishing her stint on Strictly Come Dancing just a week before the annual festivities began.
Helen, 39, made it all the way to the final of the BBC One dance contest earlier this month alongside professional dancer Gorka Marquez. After wowing the judges and viewers for several weeks, the pair faced Fleur East and Vito Coppola, Hamza Yassin and Jowita Prytzal, and Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu in a fight for the Glitterball trophy
But after performing three routines in the final, it wasn't to be and the public chose Hamza and Jowita as their Strictly 2022 winners leading to Helen and Gorka being the subject of 'robbed' complaints. However, both have headed off to enjoy time away from the training room and the ballroom.
On Christmas Eve, Helen took to Instagram to share a snap of herself with her daughter, Elsie Kate, ahead of the little one's first Christmas. The former Blue Peter star gave birth to her third child last December, months before announcing her split from husband Richie Myler.
There was also another snap of Helen and Elsie with brothers Ernie and Louis as they made a last-minute visit to see Father Christmas. "Magic," Helen simply captioned the post and now, it appears the mum-of-three experienced some more Christmas magic.
On Tuesday, she shared a photo of one of her boys giving a warm hug to his mum's former Strictly co-star Katya Jones. Helen had taken Ernie and Louis off to see the professional dancer who is playing The Evil Queen in the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs pantomime in Blackburn.
Alongside the photo, which was taken on stage after the show and showed Katya in full dramatic costume, Helen typed: "The magic of the panto," alongside a string of red heart emojis. She then revealed: "For five mins he didn't want to go and before it finish he made me promise can go next year."
She then shared a follow-up photo of herself and her boys donning 3D glasses as they sat in their seats at King George's Hall. Helen had remained pretty quiet on social media as she enjoyed Christmas with her little ones but did appear on Instagram to show her support for another of her former co-stars.
Helen paid an emotional tribute to 'warrior' Strictly co-star Amy Dowden in a heartwarming post. Sharing a sweet snap on Instagram, the Countryfile presenter took the chance to give a touching shout-out to the dance professional, thanking her for her 'insight' and urging fans to watch her BBC documentary, Strictly Amy: Crohn's and Me, which saw the dancer open up about life with the disease.
In the picture, Helen poses with Strictly co-stars Amy, Dianne Buswell, Tyler West, Fleur East, Molly Rainford, and Vita Coppola, calling them 'top bananas'. "If you get a chance this week to watch @amy_dowden documentary on iPlayer please do," Helen captioned the post. "She is one of those warrior women who keeps going whilst fighting a silent battle.
"Respect and love to you. Thanks for your insight and sharing your story. Thanks for being one of those women who keeps getting back up."
