Helen Skelton wowed Strictly Come Dancing fans with her 'revenge' routine this weekend – but her kids had a very different reaction.
The Countryfile presenter and her ex Richie Myler split in April – not long after the arrival of their third child. Richie has since started dating Stephanie Thirkill and she is now expecting his child.
Helen has previously opened up about how the BBC One Latin and ballroom show has helped her find her way back to herself, with the latest dance for their Couple's Choice routine.
Helen impressed viewers with her incredible, sassy dance, with many praising her and hailing it a 'revenge' dance.
Whilst fans at home loved her performance, Helen said her kids and her parents had a very different response to the routine.
Speaking with Rylan Clark on Strictly: It Takes Two, Helen shared her excitement over the routine but when asked about her kids' reaction – Ernie, Louis and Elsie Kate – she said they were not so keen, as she revealed: "It was one of those moments that will stay with me forever.
"Well, my children said it was a bit weird for us and they were a little embarrassed but they were ok about it. My parents absolutely loved it, I mean my mum was in the front row, she was just going mad wasn't she?"
Helen also confessed during this weekend's show that the BBC show had helped her "remember who she is".
Speaking about her latest dance, Helen shared: "It's not me at all. For me, it's a chance to be powerful and sassy and all of that. I think that's a good thing for me to explore. Strictly has given me so many things already. It's helped me remember who I am – and remember what I'm abo ut. I've got lots to be thankful for and I know what I can offer."
The TV presenter danced a special Cabaret themed routine for musicals week and it was described as a 'revenge' dance by many fans who hailed her for her confident and sassy dance, describing her as an 'icon'.
One fan said: “I think the nation just watched Helen Skelton say a huge f*** you to her ex-husband!" as another added: "Helen getting the ultimate revenge on her slimy ex… iconic behaviour!"
"That dance right there was the moment Helen Skelton found herself again, she absolutely f****** smashed it," a third shared.
