Helen Skelton 'emotional' on BBC Morning Live over 'broken' Gethin Jones

Helen Skelton shared that she was emotional on BBC Morning Live as she was joined by Gethin Jones who did an ambitious challenge for charity.

On BBC Morning Live, March 17, Helen was joined by Gethin Jones after he had been up all night as a part of the Gethin Keeps Dancing challenge for Red Nose Day 2023.

The challenge saw the Welsh presenter dancing for 24 hours straight to raise money for Red Nose Day. Many of his celeb pals joined him for the challenge, including The One Show host Alex Jones, reports the Wales Online.

Helen said on the show: "We are counting down to a Strictly fitness like no other. Gethin is digging deep. The nation is behind you, people have been watching all night, you've had people in tears, people are cheering you on."

Gethin bopped back and forth on the spot, he seemed too tired to respond. Helen continued: "I'm getting emotional just standing next to you, because he's broken, guys!

"But he's doing it for a fantastic cause, for a cause that helps so, so many of us. Can he complete the challenge? Find out at 9.15."

Gethin completed the tough challenge. The live broadcast began during BBC Morning Live on the morning of Thursday, March 16, and continued in the studio throughout the day and night, finishing at 10am on Friday's Morning Live on March 17, Red Nose Day.

Tweeting about his achievement, the official BBC Morning Live team tweeted: "An amazing achievement! We're so proud of what you've done, @gethincjones. An incredible feat, on your feet! It's not too late to donate."

At the end of the show it was revealed that Gethin had raised a whopping £900,000 for Comic Relief.
