Helen Flanagan’s son Charlie, who is 22 months old, was rushed to hospital by ambulance after snapping his collarbone at Alton Towers’ water park.
The former Coronation Street star said she spent six hours in hospital on Thursday following the toddler’s accident at the popular Stoke on Trent amusement park.
Taking to her Instagram stories, she said: “We went to a water park and Charlie slipped, really really badly and it was awful, absolutely horrendous.
“I had to get an ambulance and he had snapped his collarbone into two... so I spent like six hours in the hospital at Stoke.
“I’d like to say thank you to the paramedics and the doctors and nurses who were amazing. Thank you so much.
She continued: “To see your child in pain was just horrendous, but he’s okay... but it’s horrible when you’re a mum and you just wish you could take every pain away from them.”
The accident happened on Tuesday – the day before she was due to take her eldest daughter Matilda to Paris on a girls’ trip.
She still managed to make it to Paris, but took Charlie with her and Matilda.
She said of her decision to not cancel the holiday despite the accident: “I’d promised Matilda for months. She’d always wanted to go to Paris and I didn’t want to let her down. She was crying in the morning.
“It was meant to be just a me and Matilda trip and it was supposed to be a big girl trip... [but] I’ve got Matilda and Charlie with me ‘cause obviously I couldn’t leave him and I’ve got my friend with me as well."
Alongside a clip of her littlest one beside the Eiffel Tower, she wrote: “Charlie’s been amazing, bless him. So brave at the Eiffel Tower today.”
She added: “He’s okay, bless him. Just lots of love and attention and hair [sic] watching him like a hawk.”
Flanagan, shares Charlie and daughters Matilda, seven, and Delilah with her ex-partner of 13 years, Scott Sinclair.
The actress, who split from Scott in October and appeared to take a swipe at him on Valentine’s Day, revealed the footballer was minding their daughter Delilah while she was in Paris.
