Heidi Klum’s 18-year-old daughter Leni has addressed the backlash she received for co-starring in a lingerie campaign with her supermodel mum.

The mother and daughter were unveiled as the latest ambassadors for lingerie brand Intimissimi in October.

To mark the announcement, the pair featured in an underwear campaign for their flawless collection, with the Italian underwear retailer describing the images as “a story of self-confidence, joy of life and love between a mother and a daughter”.

The retailer later shared another post explaining the campaign and said it was to show the pair “how they truly are”, explaining they “represent the strong bond between mother and daughter”.

Despite Intimissimi’s best endeavours, some found it difficult to focus on the positive side of the campaign and described the shoot as “weird” and “a bit ick” online.

Considering the controversy on social media, Leni admitted she didn’t look at the furore online and reiterated how proud she is of the campaign.

Speaking at her mum’s annual Halloween bash, the model told Page Six: “I just don’t look at it, honestly. If I don’t look at it, I don’t have to pay any attention to it, so I just don’t know what is there.

“I had an amazing day with my mom. I think the photos turned out great, and we had an amazing time. I had an amazing day, an amazing shoot, it’s out, I love it.”

The teen went on to brand her model mum as an “inspiration” and praised her work ethic, having enjoyed a career in modelling spanning three decades.

Leni added: “I love her... Just the advice she gives me, the way she works, everything about her, I can go on and on. I love shooting with her.”

At the annual spooktacular bash held at New York eatery Sake No Hana, Leni dressed up as Catwoman while Heidi turned up as a giant worm.
