Heidi Klum is unrecognisable as she transforms into a peacock for her most elaborate Halloween costume yet

Heidi Klum has wowed fans as she arrived at her annual Halloween party in New York City dressed as a peacock.

The German supermodel is known for her intricate, horrifying, and sometimes downright bizarre costumes, which have included a science experiment gone wrong, a rotting corpse, and last year’s unforgettable earthworm.

While it was hard to see how the runway star could outdo last year’s costume, which included her husband Tom Kaulitz dressed as the fisherman with Klum on his hook, she might have just managed it.

The America’s Got Talent judge was aa sight to behold as she walked the red carpet at Marquee nightclub in a blue velour unitard and prosthetic beak as she transformed into a peacock.

She also donned an elaborate headdress, designed by her longtime collaborator, the makeup artist Bill Corso.

Klum, 50, enlisted the help of nine Cirque du Soleil acrobats to become her peacock wings and even had Tokio Hotel star Kaulitz dress as a human-sized peacock egg to round the piece off.

Speaking outside the bash, she told Sky News: “A lot of planning goes into it.

“First you have to have an idea and the idea for me was to do something with many, many people”.

Aside from Klum, American singer HER arrived at the party dressed as an astronaut while influencer and actress Dylan Mulvaney donned a Star Trek inspired number.

Comedian Keegan-Michael Key and his wife Elisa were dressed in French revolution garb while Rachel Zegler dressed as Daphne from Scooby-Doo, while her boyfriend Josh Riveria went as Fred.
