Hegseth warns Iran of ‘most intense day of strikes’ after threat against Trump

  • US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned that Tuesday would see the most intense day of strikes inside Iran after an Iranian security official issued a chilling threat to President Donald Trump.
  • Hegseth said today “will be yet again our most intense day of strikes inside Iran: The most fighters, the most bombers, the most strikes, intelligence more refined and better than ever.” He added that “the last 24 hours have seen Iran fire the lowest amount of missiles they have fired yet.”
  • General Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said US forces had hit over 5,000 targets, aiming to dismantle Iran's missile and drone capabilities, target its navy, and strike its military infrastructure.
  • Iran's Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, stated that Iran was not seeking a ceasefire and advocated for strong retaliation against any aggressor.
  • A senior Iranian security official, Ali Larijani, issued a direct warning to Trump, writing on X, “Iran doesn’t fear your empty threats. Even those bigger than you couldn’t eliminate Iran. Be careful not to get eliminated yourself.”
