An Edinburgh resident has captured the hair-raising moment a hedge outside a residential property burst into flames.
The passer-by spotted flames on Saturday, February 11, outside Cameron Toll Shopping Centre. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the incident was a "controlled burning" and they had been notified prior to the incident.
Images show the garden hedge, on Lady Road, in flames with a single pedestrian standing on the pavement on the other side. The blaze appears to have originated from the property's front garden before spreading.

The property in question is situated opposite the busy roundabout outside Cameron Toll. One worker within the centre, told Edinburgh Live that it's not the first time the same hedge has caught fire.
After seeing the footage, they added: "That same hedge was on fire recently, I remember finishing work and seeing the flames before I went into the car park.
"I have no idea how a hedge can become something of a fire hazard, but it's very strange how it has happened more than once. The owner must have been burning stuff in their garden and it spread to the hedge area."
The SFRS confirmed that they were not required to attend the incident due to being notified of the controlled burning beforehand.
