Drivers have faced disruption this evening after an overturned lorry forced a road closure near the M8.
Heavy traffic is being reported following the road accident, which took place on the A89 Coatbridge Road between A8 and M8 J8 (Baillieston).
Emergency services are currently in attendance.
Traffic Scotland confirmed news of the accident around 4:15pm, tweeting: "Partially blocked Southbound heading onto the Swinton Roundabout due to an overturned lorry. Traffic slowing on the approach."
They followed that up at 4:50pm by confirming news of the closure, tweeting: "Closed. Southbound heading onto the Swinton Roundabout due to an overturned lorry. Emergency services are in attendance."
Traffic information site INRIX have also issued an alert concerning the incident, which reads: "A89 Coatbridge Road Southbound closed, heavy traffic due to overturned lorry between A8 and M8 J8 (Baillieston). Heading onto the Swinton Roundabout."
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
