Heavy rains: Amarnath Yatra halted at Ramban, 54 more families relocated in Akhnoor; cloudburst in Doda

JAMMU: As rains continued to lash Jammu region on Saturday resulting annual Amarnath Yatra to be halted at Ramban, around 54 more families were shifted to safer location after water from Chenab river inundated Garkhal village in Akhnoor of Jammu district and a powerful cloudburst in Kota Nullah of Doda district.

"In Jammu outskirts, a massive rescue operation was launched in the village of Akhnoor sub division after Chenab river breached the protection wall today," an official said.
