BHUBANESWAR: The possibility of formation of a cyclone has dampened preparations for Diwali in the state.
Though the India Meteorological Department (IMD) is yet to predict the path and severity of the possible cyclone, the special relief commissioner (SRC) has asked collectors of seven coastal districts of Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Balasore to remain alert. However, the IMD forecast there will be no major change in weather till October 23.
