A Heathhall family are celebrating the arrival of Scotland’s first baby born on Christmas Day.
Claire Henderson and Curtis Nott welcomed little Mila into the world at 12.26am on December 25.
The tot weighed in at 8lb 2oz after making her arrival by emergency caesarean at Dumfries Infirmary.
Thrilled Claire, 33, said: “My waters broke at 8pm on Christmas Eve so I knew she was going to be a Christmas baby.
“When I was being taken into theatre for my C-section, the nurse said “oh, it’s Christmas’ and then minutes later she was here.
“It really has been the best Christmas gift for us.
“Mila was due on December 21 but she obviously wanted to wait for Santa. We’ve been looking everywhere to see the times of the Christmas Day babies and Mila appears to be the first.
“It’s a lovely Christmas present for us, next year we’ll have a first birthday to celebrate, too.”
Proud dad Curtis, 32, was delighted to get Claire and his newborn daughter home from hospital on Tuesday, where she joined doting big sisters Esmee, 12, and Orlaith, eight.
