Heat health alert issued for parts of UK despite forecasts of rain

  • A yellow heat health alert has been issued across parts of the UK, effective from Friday morning until Sunday morning.
  • The warning covers the East Midlands, West Midlands, South East, South West, East of England, and London.
  • The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issued the alert despite forecasts of rain this weekend.
  • Vulnerable individuals are particularly at risk due to the hot weather conditions, the agency said.
  • Health chiefs also cautioned about a potential increase in water-related incidents, such as cold-water shock and drowning .
