The Boston Celtics seemed to have forgotten how much of a pesky opponent the Miami Heat can be on some nights even when they are not at full health. And such was the case on Thursday night at TD Garden when the Heat stole a game from the Celtics when their shot wasn’t going in and their ball control was not what it should have been.
The Celtics were able to force overtime through the extraordinary efforts of star wing Jaylen Brown despite teammate Jayson Tatum going 5-of-18 overall and 0-of-7 from beyond the arc on his way to 14 points and 12 boards. Brown led all players with a season-high 37 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Celtics also got solid contributions from Grant Williams off of the bench (18 points), Marcus Smart (18 points9 assists), and Derrick White (13 points)
