Heartwarming moment dog is rescued from water at the Baths

The Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard and RNLI ILb successfully rescued a young dog who had fallen into the water at the Baths.

The incident happened on Tuesday and the pooch, named Daisy, had gotten herself out of the water onto a ledge but was stuck there. A video posted by the Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard shows the RNLI lifeboat close to Daisy and a team member was able to hop out and grab her.

Daisy's tail immediately started wagging when help arrived and she nestled herself into the arms of the rescuer. The Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard shared the incident on social media and reminded the public to call emergency services if you see anyone in difficulty near water.

"Coast Guard crew tasked to a dog who got stuck on a ledge at the Baths in Dún Laoghaire after falling into water," they said. "Young Daisy had fallen into the water and couldn’t get out but had made her way to the safety of a ledge.

"Coast Guard crew were unable to recover daisy and requested Dún Laoghaire RNLI ILb to assist. The video says a lot… Remember if you see anyone in difficulty in or near the water, dial 112/999 or VHF channel 16 immediately and ask for the Coast Guard."
