Hearts starting XI to face Kilmarnock revealed as Robbie Neilson targets return to winning ways

Robbie Neilson has named his Hearts team to face Kilmarnock as he targets a big confidence boosting win.

The capital club go into this one off the back of a Europa Conference League defeat to Fiorentina on Thursday night at Tynecastle with the return showdown between the pair taking place this coming midweek in Florence. The Jambos got off to the worst possible start conceding with less than four minutes on the clock before further strikes ensured the points went back to Italy.

The last league outing for Neilson and Co didn't go much better with Rangers hitting them for four on their own turf last weekend. Antonio Colak's superb double and strikes from Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent proved the difference on that day.

But those games are now in the past and Neilson will be keen for his troops to get back to winning ways at Rugby Park. The hosts picked up a big midweek win over St Johnstone and will be raring to go in front of their home crowd once again.

A victory for Hearts will move them up to fourth in the table - one point behind Edinburgh rivals Hibs in third. For Kilmarnock, they can leapfrog Ross County with all three points this afternoon.

Hearts XI: Gordon, Kingsley, Kio, Shankland, Atkinson, Halliday, Forrest, McKay, Cochrane, Humphrys, Snodgrass

Subs: Stewart, Clark, Haring, Grant, Mackay-Steven, Neilson, Sibbick, Henderson, C. Smith
