Hearts 'interested' in Jorge Grant transfer from English outfit Peterborough United

Hearts are reportedly interested in a move for Peterborough's Jorge Grant.

Robbie Neilson has expressed his desire to add depth to his Tynecastle squad this summer and has already recruited Alan Forrest, Kye Rowles and Lewis Neilson.

The Jambos boss has discussed wanted to bring in attacking options with versatile No10 types and an out-and-out striker on his agenda.

We told earlier today how Hearts had made a 'strong pitch' in their bid to bring Ellis Simms back on a second loan stint from Everton.

And now Football Scotland report that Grant, 27, is on the radar.

The midfielder featured in 29 games for the Posh this season netting twice and assisting a further three goals in all competitions.

Hearts will be playing guaranteed European group stage football and it's reported they hope the lure of playing on the big stage could work in their favour.

The 27-year-old has previously turned out for the likes of Lincoln City, Notts County, Luton Town, Nottingham Forest and Mansfield Town.

Speaking previously, Neilson said: “We are looking for a few in attacking areas.

“We are looking for a couple of quick forwards who can play the No.10 role or further forward and we're also looking for another striker.

"We need to focus on that department for next season so I would expect a few coming in to play in that area.

“Preferably, we want one that's an out-and-out No.9 and other guys who can flit between the No.9 position, the No.10 position and the wide areas.

"Versatility will be important. Similar to this year, we will play 3-4-3 and 4-2-3-1 so we will look at guys who can play in both systems for us.”
