Hearts have confirmed the signing of teenager Scott Cowie after the young goalkeeper's exit from Rangers.
The starlet swaps Premiership clubs amid plenty of interest in his services both in Scotland and England. It's an exciting time for youngsters within the Tynecastle academy as they register a 'B' team in this year's Lowland League. It follows on from Celtic and Rangers fielding a squad of youngsters in the fifth tier.
Cowie will join up with the club's u18s squad initially with hopes of a senior breakthrough one day.
Academy Director Frankie McAvoy said of him: “There was a lot of interest in Scott, both in Scotland and England, so we’re delighted that he’s chosen to join Hearts. He’s a young goalkeeper, a good communicator with bags of potential and we feel we can give Scott a great environment in which he has the opportunity to work hard and progress.

“With Scott and Zach Paris both pushing each other for the Under 18s’ no.1 jersey, the future of our goalkeeping department looks strong.”
The Jambos youngsters between the sticks have few better to look up to at senior level, with Craig Gordon still undisputed number one for club and country as he approaches 40.
Ross Stewart acts as the back-up goalkeeper while there are high hopes for fellow stopper Harry Stone, who has impressed on loan in League Two with Albion Rovers.
