Hearts are competing with Premiership rivals Dundee United for the signature of Sligo Rovers goalkeeper Ed McGinty, according to reports in the Republic of Ireland.
The highly-regarded 22-year-old is also attracting interest from the English Championship after his form in the League of Ireland for John Russell's side. Born in Scotland, he has featured an impressive 102 times and turns 23 in August. United have lost number one goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist to champions Celtic and have been linked with numerous replacements, including St Johnstone hero Zander Clark.
Craig Gordon meanwhile turns 40 next season but is still Hearts' undisputed number one and has taken that mantle again for Steve Clarke's Scotland side. Ross Stewart has acted as his Tynecastle deputy while promising youngster Harry Stone has impressed during loans at League Two club Albion Rovers. But they seemingly have another stopper in their sights ahead of the upcoming 2021/22 season.
