A city centre bar has issued a warning after burglars broke in and swiped a kids' charity box.
On Point, found on Eberle Street, was broken between 7:30pm on Sunday, September 18 and 9.55 am on Monday, September 19, and although the burglar “didn’t steal much financially”, they left the venue with “thousands of pounds worth of damages”.
The venue believes the burglar smashed and climbed through the window before damaging the CCTV and alarm system. They then proceeded to steal the till's float and money from a charity box which was intended for Cash for Kids.

A spokesperson for the LGBTQ+ venue told the ECHO: “It’s quite hard to ask for help, everyone is struggling at the minute. We are quite a small business and it is like we were already in a mini-recession and now this is going to hit us. It’s a bad time to be starting over with the rise in energy prices.”
The venue claims their insurance company won’t pay out for the damages as their “alarm make and model wasn’t supported” and the safe deposit box they have “isn’t sufficient for the policy”. Not wanting any other small businesses to find themselves in the same predicament, the spokesperson urged others to ask if their policy was compatible with their choice of insurance policy.
To ease the burden, Leanne Sansbury, a customer of the venue has created a GoFundMe to help "with all the mess and financial burden to fix".
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the ECHO: "We were contacted at 10 am on Monday, September 19, following reports of a burglary at Onpoint bar in Eberle Street in Liverpool city centre. It is believed the burglary took place between 7.30 pm on Sunday 18 and 9.55 am on Monday 19 when an unknown offender entered the property and stole a quantity of cash. Damage was also caused to a window."
