A cruel mother has been accused of murdering her newborn daughter and leaving the child's body in a dumpster.
The accused 24-year-old is currently facing trial in Russia having been arrested on September 21, after a passer-by spotted the baby's body in a bin, close to her apartment block in Moscow two days earlier.
The witness immediately alerted the police who were accompanied by Deputy Prosecutor of the South-Eastern Administrative District Mikhail Sukharev and Deputy Prosecutor of the Lublin Interdistrict Prosecutor Igor Ordinartsev on site.
It was reported that they immediately identified and caught the suspect, who claims the baby was stillborn.
In a follow-up interrogation, the mother revealed that she gave birth to the stillborn baby on Friday, September 16.
When she realised the baby was not alive, she put it in a bag, and then in a box.
Several days later she disposed of it in a dumpster.
The Lublin Interdistrict Investigation Department reported that the woman is being investigated for murder on the grounds of a crime under Art. 106 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
She will reportedly be charged with "murder by the mother of a newborn child" by the public prosecutor in the following days.
Ongoing forensic examinations should reveal more information regarding the baby's death.
Several years ago a similar occurrence happened, when a mum who gave birth during a party dumped her newborn baby in a bin so she could carry on drinking.
The infant was found alive after a passer-by heard his cries thinking it was an animal in distress, and was stunned to find the child.
His mum, named Yulia, gave birth in the toilet at her flat in the western city of Ryazan.
Yulia, 31, was arrested, and her other two children - aged three and four - were taken away from her, according to Russian news site KEM.
After giving birth she put the baby in a bag and placed the bag in a large bin, it is claimed - before carrying on partying.
She reportedly did not tell anyone that she had given birth.
A witness told RIA : "Approaching the bin, I heard heart-rending screams.
"At first I thought that a kitten was screaming, but when I unwrapped the plastic bag, I gasped.
"In the container among the mountains of garbage lay a living baby."
