Hearthstone's latest expansion, Perils of Paradise, is now live and brings with it a ton of new collectible cards and other content to Blizzard's fast-paced strategy card game.

Players can now freely move around the game's new expansion that features 145 new cards, class-hopping Tourists, bustling Locations, refreshing Drinks, and much more. Blizzard also detailed what players can expect with the new content added to the game.

Hearthstone's Perils in Paradise Expansion

First off, Tourist cards will let you put cards from another class into your deck while you are building your deck. Every class also has a Legendary Tourist and each Tourist has a particular destination class that they can visit.

When you're deckbuilding, you should put your class' Tourist into your deck and add the Perils in Paradise cards from their destination class into your deck. However, the limit is only one Tourist per deck, according to Blizzard News.

The Marin resort also has six different locations that players can visit on their trip and each one re-opens early if you are able to meet their condition. You should find your favorite vacation spot and visit it again and again.

One thing that is worth noting is that Hearthstone's Perils in Paradise expansion breaks a decade-long tradition in the game. This is by being the first card set in history to not get a unique game board.

This comes as every time that the game releases a new card set, it also adds a brand-new game board for players to use.

Every single one of these battlefields features a lot of interactable stuff, hidden secrets, and several songs that play when they are in use, said GameRant.

A Vacation-Themed Expansion

Fans of the game first noticed the lack of a new game board in the Perils of Paradise expansion when Blizzard did not show one in any of its promotional material for the new set. This is something that the company usually does shortly before the new content is released.

Hearthstone director Tyler Bielman and executive producer Nathan Lyons-Smith also talked about the game's new Perils in Paradise expansion. They said that the team had a bunch of different sets and theme ideas that were all exciting.

However, they did some amount of focus group testing on different ideas to see what would be the best to use moving forward. The latest update started out as a pirate-themed expansion but they felt limited with what they could do.

The vacation theme came about after the team was thinking hard about pirates and boats and water. When they started to focus on that theme, the ideas just started pouring out, leading to what players got in the latest release, according to MSN.
