Family and friends gathered to pay tribute to a young carer who died after falling from a fire escape.
Katie Davenport fell from the two storey fire escape at Hey Amigos nightclub in Southport before being rushed to hospital where she died 13 days later. Tonight (September 22) friends, family and coworkers paid tribute to her as they released hundreds of green balloons in memory of the 23-year-old.
The memorial took place in Princes Park next to Brewers Fayre in Southport, where crowds release the balloons in what was an emotional moment for mourners. Speaking to the ECHO earlier this week, Katie's sisters Lianne and Cassie described her as "determined" and "caring" and told how she had plans to buy a home for her and her boyfriend.

Lianne said: "She was the most gorgeous person and everyone loved her. No one ever said a bad thing about her. She was so work-driven and she loved her job. She gave everything to her job and she gave everything that she had to make sure the residents at the home were okay.
"She was never bothered about drinking and clubbing. It's destroyed us. Out of the three of us, she was the only one with her head screwed on."
Lianne, 36, also went on to say how her sister was a straight A* student in high school and college before going into full-time work which she loved. She said: "It's heartbreaking she's not coming home. She was a straight A* student in high school and college and had just passed her driving test.
"She had so many plans with her boyfriend Niall as well, they were going to buy a house. She had a cat and a dog. That night out has destroyed everyone's life. Anyone who ever came across Katie never had a bad word to say about her.
"She never missed a day of school and she was so driven and determined in life. She was just completely different to us all."
Promenade Care Home in Southport, where Katie worked, said following the death: "Management staff and all residents at the Promenade Care Home would like to express their sincere condolences to Katie's family at this sad time.
"Katie was a valued member of staff; Katie was one of the most caring dedicated carers we have had the pleasure of working with. Staff and residents and their families here at the Promenade are devastated by the loss of Katie.
"Katie always had a smile and was dancing around the home to residents’ amusement, every shift was fun when Katie was around. She is going to be sadly missed by all at the Promenade Care Home."
