Heartbreak as GAA fan dies in stadium at Limerick v Clare hurling match as tributes paid

GAA Clare Limerick John Walsh the Gaelic Grounds Garda Heart Attack

Tributes have been paid to a Clare supporter who died at the Limerick versus Clare Munster Senior hurling match on Saturday night.

John Walsh (73) passed away shortly after throw-in in the North Stand at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick. It is believed that the prominent GAA supporter suffered a heart attack.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed that officers attended a medical incident on the Ennis Road at around 7pm on Saturday night.
