A healthy nurse found out she had tuberculosis less than 24 hours before she died. Carrianne Franks was hospitalised for nine weeks with a mystery illness before finding out about her diagnosis.
The 30 year old sent a worried text to her parents after finally getting her diagnosis in Bassetlaw Hospital. She texted: "Mum, they found out what I have. I've got TB."
The Mirror reports that Carrianne's family, who are from Nottinghamshire, were not able to say their goodbye. She was quickly placed in a coma in intensive care and the family said they were not told she was going to die.
