Health impacts of coal mining on babies to be studied as part of $1m boost

Two University of Newcastle cardiovascular specialists have been awarded $1.2 million in medical research funding to improve heart health in the Hunter.

The funding will support research into how babies' health is affected by air pollution from coal mining and bushfires during pregnancy.
