RANCHI: Pankaj Mishra, chief minister Hemant Soren's representative in Barhet assembly constituency, was grilled by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for nearly eight hours on Tuesday and later taken for a medical check-up amid a buzz that he has been arrested, though there has been no official confirmation yet, sources said.
News agency PTI, however, cited officials as saying the ED on Tuesday, arrested Mishra. The officials added that Mishra was arrested under the criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), and claimed that he was "evasive in his replies" during questioning. The questioning was in connection with illegal mining and money laundering.
