Health alerts issued for large parts of UK as 30C bank holiday heatwave arrives

  • Temperatures are expected to soar as high as 30C in London, making it hotter than popular holiday destinations such as Mykonos and Ibiza.
  • The warm weather is forecast to continue into the bank holiday weekend, with temperatures potentially reaching 28C across the rest of the UK.
  • There is a 40 per cent chance that southern England could experience temperatures of 33C on Sunday, which would surpass the current May record of 32.8C set in 1922.
