'He's the problem' - Manchester United fans react as goalless Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr knocked out of cup

Life in Saudi Arabia hasn't got off to the perfect start for Cristiano Ronaldo as his Al Nassr side were eliminated from the Saudi Super Cup after a 3-1 defeat against Al-Ittihad.

Ronaldo joined up with his new side after an underwhelming World Cup campaign with Portugal, following his departure from Manchester United due to that explosive interview with Piers Morgan. The TalkTV segment sent shockwaves around the world as Ronaldo took aim at the Glazers, Erik ten Hag, club legend Gary Neville as well as the club's training facilities.

But the forward became the highes-paid footballer on the planet soon after the World Cup ended as he joined a signed a mammoth contract with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr. The 37-year-old netted twice for a Riyadh All-Star's XI that lost 5-4 to Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain recently, but is still yet to score for his new side after two games.

Ronaldo failed to register a single shot on target during his debut, a 1-0 win against Ettifaq, and the Portuguese international failed to do so again during Thursday evening's Saudi Super Cup semi-final defeat. It would be fair to say it's been a tough start for the veteran, and Reds supporters took to Twitter after the news to share their thoughts.

Ronaldo now has more than a week to stew over his performance, with his Al-Nassr due to face Al Fateh on Friday, February 3 in their next fixture.
