England legend Joe Root delivered a commanding performance, scoring an unbeaten 78 and taking two crucial wickets, as the Paarl Royals secured their spot in the SA20 playoffs with an 11-run victory over Pretoria Capitals on a scorching day at Boland Park on Saturday.
Reflecting on Root's impact, Paarl Royals coach Trevor Penny lavished praise on the star batter. "I think with Root, he brings a lot," Penny said.
