Vietnam veteran, Navy SEAL, professional wrestler, and former governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura knows a thing or two about courage. Now, with Minneapolis in fury after ICE agent Jonathan Ross murdered mother-of-three Renee Nicole Good, Ventura has indicated he’s considering returning to front-line politics
Yesterday, Ventura, 74, visited his alma mater, Roosevelt High School, which on Wednesday was the target of a horrifying ICE raid in which staff and students were beaten and doused with a chemical weapon.
ICE claims a teacher assaulted a federal agent during the operation while protecting his students, but a video appears to show someone throwing a snowball and them responding with pepper spray. Oh well, at least ICE didn’t just indiscriminately open fire on the staff and students.
Trump has blood on his hands
Ventura duly gave the school his full report, telling Fox 9:
“As a graduate of Roosevelt High School and as the former governor of Minnesota, I’m so proud of Roosevelt High School and how they stood up for what is supposed to be America and freedom. And freedom is not arresting people without warrants. We have a system here — it’s called a Constitution, and we have a party, the Republicans, who don’t seem to want to abide by the Constitution.”

And as for their leader? Ventura didn’t mince his words in his message for Donald Trump:
“Who is that? The draft dodging coward? I don’t call him by name. He’s the draft dodging coward who when it was his time to serve his country he did what all rich white boys did. I wasn’t a rich white boy. I grew up in south Minneapolis. Most of my friends are Vietnam veterans. We had to go. But the rich white boys never had to go did they? And he didn’t have to go did he? And he’s gonna tell me what courage is?!”
Now that Tim Walz has confirmed he’s not seeking re-election, the governor’s job is once again up for grabs. And Ventura has said he thinks it might just be time for a comeback:
“You know what? Maybe it’s time for Jesse. I only did one term. I’m owed a second.”
Ventura returned to Renee Good’s murder, underlining that her blood is on Donald Trump’s hands: “Anytime you have the loss of life that needlessly happens, that’s a tragedy. And what occurred yesterday did not have to happen.” Sounds like the kind of man we need in office.
