Saleh also said Wilson will be the starter the rest of the season, barring injury.
“He gives us the best chance to win,” Saleh said. “He’s fired up.”
The Jets are turning back to Wilson just three weeks after he was benched in Week 11 against the Buffalo Bills in favor of Tim Boyle, who was benched in favor of Trevor Siemian. Boyle was released Tuesday as the team signed Brett Rypien from the Seahawks’ practice squad.
Saleh said he always believed Wilson was the best quarterback but wanted to look for a spark with Boyle and Siemian, a spark that never happened.

Wilson will be the starter with Siemian as the No. 2 and Rypien as the No. 3.
Saleh also said he believes there is “no concern whatsoever” about the locker room in the wake of the recent report that Wilson was reluctant to return to the starting lineup.

Wilson now gets five more games to salvage his career and perhaps audition for the league with the opportunity looming that the Jets release him this offseason.
