Manchester United beat Brentford 3-0 on Monday night thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane. But, as well as showcasing some of the best football that the team have played all season, the win acted as a 'farewell tour' for some of the club's faithful servants over the past few years.
Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata both started for United and received standing ovations as they left the pitch. Phil Jones also got some rare minutes coming on as a substitute in the second half.
One of the surprises of the night however was Edinson Cavani coming on as a substitute. The Uruguayan striker had been injured for weeks and only just returned to training but it seems like Ralf Rangnick wanted to give him the chance to say goodbye to the Old Trafford crowd in person.

Cavani's exploits for United had earned him cult hero status last season and even his own song in the terraces of Old Trafford to the tune of Abba's 'Gimme Gimme Gimme'. But due to his unavailability, this season leaving Cristiano Ronaldo as the club's only striker the mood among the fans has turned sour.
Despite this, some fans still hold him in high esteem. One such fan met Cavani last night as he was leaving Old Trafford, where he and a number of other players including Mata were taking pictures with fans and saying their goodbyes.
Cavani was videoed hugging this young fan who was sad to see him leave and this has resonated well with United fans on social media who appreciated that he took time to spend time with them. And a number of fans took to Twitter to state that although they had issues with Cavani's absence this season they wished him all the best in his future endeavours:
