While responding to a post on X, Owens also repeated another serious claim, that Charlie Kirk had taken off his wedding ring the night before he was shot and killed. Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, died on September 10, 2025, after he was shot during an event at Utah Valley University. The latest discussion began when social media users compared two videos. In an older video of Charlie Kirk, a framed wedding photo of him and Erika Kirk could be seen on a shelf behind him. But in a newer video featuring Erika Kirk sitting in front of the same shelf, the wedding photo was not visible. Candace Owens replied to the post and wrote, “It’s entirely possible Charlie removed it when he removed his wedding ring the night before. When they had a priest come pray over them and their marriage…”
