'He is gone' - Ian Wright makes Trent Alexander-Arnold claim after reading Liverpool statistic

Trent Alexander-Arnold has taken his game to another level this season.

It has long been clear that the 23-year-old is one of the most influential players within the Liverpool team.

But the Reds' right-back continues to raise expectations with every passing game.

Operating in tandem with Andy Robertson, Liverpool's dynamic duo are at the heart of the side's attacking play and offer Jurgen Klopp unique quality in an unsuspecting area of the pitch.

Alexander-Arnold currently leads the way for assists in the Premier League this season (10), though is closely followed behind by both Mohamed Salah (9) and Robertson.

The Liverpool Academy graduate has shown in recent weeks just how vital his creative output is to this to the team's success, setting up both of Diogo Jota's finishes in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg win over Arsenal as well as two goals in his last three Premier League outings.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has been blown away by the quality on show from the West Derby-born defender, and believes his statistics underline how he is very much in a league of his own when it comes to setting up chances.

“I wanted to give Trent some flowers because I read something the other day," he said on the Wrighty’s House Podcast.

"So, 50 Premier League players have four progressive passes per 90 minutes from open play. 21 players have five, five players have six, two players have seven, no players have eight, nine or 10. Trent Alexander Arnold has 11.

"He is out there, he is gone. He’s Elon Musk, he’s Jeff Bezos, he’s gone to space, he’s gone somewhere else. He’s got to get flowers."
