NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed Suryakumar Yadav as the new T20I captain for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, sidelining star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. This decision comes despite Pandya's role as vice-captain during India's recent T20 World Cup 2024 victory.
BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar attributed the decision to Pandya's fitness issues, but former Sri Lankan cricketer Russel Arnold suggests that there are additional factors involved.
