If you can’t wait for episode five of The Last of Us after its latest cliffhanger, then you’re in luck. The fourth installment of HBO’s hit post-apocalyptic drama aired in the US on Sunday (February 5), with the UK catching up on Monday.
It saw Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) hit the road as they head west in a bid to find Joel’s brother, Tommy. The duo was forced to make an unscheduled stop in Kansas City, and came up against a host of new characters.
Following its broadcast, HBO and Sky have made an unexpected announcement about the show’s next episode. The trailer for episode five teases a tense and explosive installment, with key moments from the 2013 video game playing out on screen.

Thankfully, there isn’t long to wait for the action-packed episode, because it will air two days early. The change has been made to avoid the post-apocalyptic drama clashing with the Superbowl, which is taking place during the show’s usual timeslot on Sunday.
A tweet from the official Last of Us account said: "It’s coming. Stream episode 5 of #TheLastOfUs early, this Friday at 9PM on @HBOMax."
The episode – titled Endure and Survive – will air on HBO in the US on Friday, February 10 at 9pm EST/6 pm PST. Since HBO’s announcement, Sky have also confirmed the episode will be available early in the UK too, at the same time as the US broadcast.
