HBO Max, the streaming service of Warner Bros. Discovery, has announced a new partnership with Spanish streamer Movistar+ to offer its content to customers of the Ficción Total package. This collaboration allows Movistar+ customers to access HBO Max directly through the main Movistar Plus+ navigation and on-demand service.
Starting May 21, Movistar+ subscribers will also have access to WBD's enhanced streaming platform, Max. The launch of Max coincides with the highly anticipated second season of the HBO original series House of the Dragon, set to premiere in Europe on June 17th.
Under this agreement, Movistar+ customers can enjoy a wide range of HBO Max series and movies, including popular titles such as The Last of Us, Succession, Dune, Wonka, and Zack Snyder's Justice League. Additionally, Max will be the exclusive platform to watch every moment of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this summer.
Upcoming programming on Max includes the limited series The Sympathiser, co-directed by Park Chan-wook and Don McKellar, featuring acclaimed actors Sandra Oh and Robert Downey Jr. in multiple roles. Max will also introduce a new lineup of Max Originals based on beloved Warner Bros. brands, such as The Penguin and Welcome to Derry (inspired by Stephen King's It).
Furthermore, subscribers can look forward to a diverse selection of films from Warner Bros.' extensive library, including the Harry Potter franchise, Paddington, Matrix, The Dark Knight trilogy, Joker, and Lord of the Rings. Popular shows like All in 90 Days, The Gold Rush, and Discovery's Fixer Upper will also be available for streaming on Max.
