A hay fever and allergies caution is on going for Leeds as pollen levels are being recorded as high and set to increase.
High pollen levels often lead to allergies like hay fever which can severely impact people living in Leeds. The Met Office said: "Peak season for grass pollen. Nettle, dock and plantain pollen also in peak season. Fungal spores: Cladosporium and some Alternaria."
During this time of year, pollen becomes troublesome for many individuals. Approximately 2 out of 10 people in the UK experience pollen allergies, and sometimes these allergies can be severe enough to disrupt their work.
Regarding the weather, the Met Office predicts a dry morning followed by thunderstorms in the afternoon. A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Dry, bright start. Cloud bubbling up in the morning with scattered heavy, locally thundery showers developing.
"However, there will still be warm sunny spells for most throughout the afternoon. Maximum temperature 23 °C."
The morning will have sunny intervals which change to thunder showers by late morning. Sunny spells between 7am and 10am. A serious thunderstorm is expected at 11am. This will be followed by ainfall all he way to 4pm. The wet conditions will impact pollen levels.
