Hawthorn romped to a record victory against West Coast's witches hats last week but the Hawks will be confronted by the AFL's best defensive team when they take on St Kilda.
Sam Mitchell's team is coming off obliterating the Eagles by 116 points last Sunday to jump off the bottom of the ladder in style.
Hawthorn kicked 22 goals in their second win of the season, but they might only need half that to upset the stingy Saints at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.
In typical Ross Lyon fashion, St Kilda have conceded the fewest points of any team in the league this season during their impressive 7-3 start.
Mitchell knows his young Hawks will need to come up with something special to make it back-to-back wins.
"I can remember playing against Ross Lyon (coached teams) and sometimes you would call for the ball and think I wonder why they didn't give it to me," Mitchell said.
"You would turn around and there was someone right there. I think defensively they are really sound.
"It's really been quite hard to score against them on turnover for the majority of the year.
"Having said that we just had our oppo(sition) meeting, hopefully we can find ways to exploit them and find ways to score.
"When they've played well they've blown teams away."
Lyon heaped praise on Hawthorn for the young team's ability to block out the off-field dramas of the club's ongoing racism saga.
"If you let them play on their terms and don't apply any heat on them they move the ball really quickly and really well and score heavily," Lyon said.
"They've got a lot of talented juniors, so they're on track, it seems.
"Obviously there's a lot of noise around the Hawthorn football club, isn't there?
"They're caught up in the investigation so the players have had the ability, and their coach, to stay focused with all that noise around that football club."
