After an awful snow plowing incident on New Year's Day, actor Jeremy Renner has undergone two surgeries. The Hawkeye star suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries, and remains in a critical but stable condition in intensive care reports CNN.
Following blizzard conditions in the US, Renner was reportedly trying to clear a path by plowing his driveway to his five-bedroom Lake Tahoe Ranch in Nevada. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office in Nevada said in a news release that it is investigating the incident.
Unconfirmed reports indicate a plowing machine - called a Snowcat - accidentally ran over one of Renner's legs, and he bled profusely as a result. TMZ reports that one of his neighbors, a doctor, potentially saved his life by putting a tourniquet on his leg until paramedics arrived.

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office said in a statement regarding the incident: "At approximately 9:00am on January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada.
"Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital. Mr. Renner was the only involved party in the incident."
His publicist Sam Must released a statement saying: “As of now, we can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today. His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care."
After underdoing a first surgery on Monday (2 January), Renner remains in intensive care. It came as dozens of people were killed across the US amid fatal blizzard conditions.
Heavy winds and snow have swept across the country, with some residents trapped inside their homes with snowdrifts and knocking out power to tens of thousands of homes and business. The storm has stretched on an unprecedented scale, going from the Great Lakes near Canada down to the Rio Grande along the Mexican border.
Renner previously tweeted about the snow at his US ranch in December, writing: “Lake Tahoe snowfall is no joke.” The storm unleashed its full fury on Buffalo, with hurricane-force winds and snow causing whiteout conditions, in what has been branded one of the worst weather-related disasters to hit the western part of New York state.
Renner, a two-time Oscar nominee, is well-known for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has also featured in films including The Hurt Locker, American Hustle, and Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol. He is currently starring in Paramount+ series The Mayor Of Kingstown.
