Moving to Bayern Munich "hasn't worked out" for Sadio Mane, after the Senegalese international left Liverpool for a new start last summer.
That's the view of former Premier League star and radio pundit Gabby Agbonlahor, who says that both Mane and the Reds have hit the buffers since they parted ways at the end of the 2021-22 season.
Despite only losing three games all season, Bayern Munich made a surprise move last week by sacking coach Julian Nagelsmann and replacing him with Thomas Tuchel. The German giants' squad is said to have been split over whether their former coach should be given the push, with reports suggesting that Mane was in favour of ditching the coach, even though he brought him to Munich from Anfield in a reported £27.4million deal.

Mane has made 30 appearances for Bayern this season, scoring 12 goals in all competitions. But he has not enjoyed the hero-like status that was afforded to him on Merseyside as he formed a trophy-winning attacking partnership with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino that delivered almost every major piece of silverware on offer.
Speaking about Mane on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said: “Mane was a top, top player. It hasn’t worked out for him at Bayern Munich with injuries. But, for Liverpool, he was outstanding. Liverpool haven’t been the same since he has gone.”
The Reds has struggled to replicate the contribution of Mane since his departure, despite signing Darwin Nunez from Benfica and Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven in the wake of the African star's exit. Last season Mane helped Klopp's to win both the Carabao and FA Cups and game within two matches of lifting the Premier League and Champions League trophies as well, in a remarkable final season.
