Unions have called for Ireland's minimum wage to be boosted by €4 per hour by 2025.
Ireland's minimum wage is currently €11.30 per hour, or €1,656.20 per month. The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has called for two increases that would take the rate to €13.30 by next January and then to €15.30 12 months later.
They said this would afford low paid workers to have a decent standard of living. The union claimed Government plans to introduce a new national living wage to replace the minimum wage by 2026 must happen sooner.

ICTU general secretary Owen Reidy said: “Low-paid workers are hurting disproportionately in this cost of living crisis.
“We welcome the Government is committed to moving to a national living wage but it must happen sooner.”
