Between suspended seasons and limits on crowds, Scottish football has been pretty 'different' the last couple of years.
Despite some normality returning - fans are back and Rangers and Celtic are battling for the top spot yet again - the 2021/22 season may still come with a few surprises.
Whether it be part time Arbroath knocking loudly on the door of the Premiership or St Johnstone facing an almighty fall into the Championship.
But when was the last time Arbroath played top flight football, if ever? Are St Johnstone familiar with second tier football? And what else can be expect as we enter the last few months of the season...
Arbroath's premiership promotion possibilities
Arbroath are certainly having a season to remember as Dick Campbell's men currently top the Scottish Championship.
Despite a recent run of draws, the Red Lichties made sure Dunfermline left Gayfield empty handed on Saturday after David Gold's ninth minute goal made sure the points remained in Angus.
If Arbroath manage to keep their momentum and bag promotion, it will be their first time playing in the top flight of Scottish football since 1975 when the league format looked completely different.
The Lichties last period in the top division stretched just three seasons after they were promoted to the Scottish First Division - the top flight at the time - in 1972 before finishing last in 1975.
At the end of the 1974-75 season the Scottish league was reorganised with the top ten teams in the First Division forming the Scottish Premier Division, whilst the other eight teams (including Arbroath) became part of the fourteen team Scottish First Division.
Since the reshuffle, Arbroath have somewhat struggled and bounced between the lower leagues.
It could all change this season though with promotion not only possible, but pretty likely.
It would be the first time the club have ever competed the top tier since the huge reshuffle back in '75.
However, Arbroath's chiefs have admitted a promotion could force them to reassess their position as a part time club.
Back in December, vice chairman Ewen West told BBC Radio Scotland: "If we were able to make that step up, we'd have to have a close look at our set-up, contract and players".
When is the last time St Johnstone were relegated?
After winning a cup double and securing a respectable fifth place finish last season, St Johnstone find themselves just one point off bottom of the pile Dundee.
The Tayside club also have a game in hand as they face St Mirren on Wednesday.
It means the season continues to look pretty bleak for Callum Davidson's men who are fighting to keep their spot in Scottish football's top flight.
But when was the last time the Saints were relegated?
St Johnstone were last relegated from top flight football in 2002.
After a period of steady decline, the club finished bottom of the Premier League in the 2001/02 under the watchful eye of manager Billy Stark.
The club then spent seven years in the first division enjoying various levels success throughout the seasons.
St Johnstone secured their return to top flight football in 2009 following a 3-1 victory over Greenock Morton at McDiarmid Park.
The success came during Derek McInness' first taste of power as he took charge as player-manager.
The Perthshire side have enjoyed some pretty good years since their return, but could that be over this season?
Two in a row for Kelty Hearts?
Promotion after promotion is looking likely for Kelty Hearts.
The Fife side secured their place in Scottish League Two last season after defeating Brechin over a two leg play off.
And things are only getting better for Kelty as they top the table, ten points ahead of second place Annan.
With only three losses in the league this season, the club are looking to make it two promotions in a row as they climb the tiers of Scottish football.
However, this is not as uncommon as you may think.
Cove Rangers actually successful made the jump from the Highland League to League One after back to back promotions in the 2018/19 and then 2019/20 seasons.
The likes of Rangers and Livingston have also climbed the leagues in successive years after a both clubs faced a spot of money trouble.
